Who I Am

Hi, I'm Josh and Star Valley Capital is my software development and consulting company. I've been a full-stack problem solver and generalist for 6 years now. I do product/project/people management, full-stack web development, and stakeholder/customer management. I love making things and I love working with people to bring their visions to life. For my developer tech stack, my go-tos are TypeScript, Next.js, React, Python with FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and sometimes graph databases like Neo4j. I enjoy designing systems just as much as building them, and I'm equally passionate about both the business and technical sides of product development.

I have a Master's degree in Systems Engineering from George Washington University, an AAS in Advanced Mechatronics Engineering Technology from the College of Western Idaho, a BS in Game Art from Full Sail University, and a BA in Political Science from Christopher Newport University.

For the past 6 years, I've been working with a fortune 500 company to design, plan, and build enterprise-grade systems. Now, I'm looking to work with startups and small businesses to help turn their ideas into reality. The two things that drive me in life are helping people and being able to express my creativity through the things I make. I'm always learning about new technologies and, right now, I'm particularly interested in fintech, quantitative trading, algorithmic trading, and AI agents.
